When California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks decided to update its approximately 1,200-square-foot athletic training room, the existing flooring was no longer meeting those needs. From Carpet and Laminate to Commercial Concrete Coating
Our team removed the existing flooring and adhesive before repairing and preparing the concrete underneath. We used 600-pound floor grinders to create the surface profile needed for strong coating adhesion.
The new flooring system included:
- A durable polyurea base coat
- Decorative color chips for texture, traction, and an on-brand appearance
- A clear polyaspartic topcoat for long-term protection
Up to four times stronger than traditional epoxy, our polyurea system is designed to resist cracking, peeling, chipping, and everyday wear.
A New On-Brand Floor Completed on Schedule
Because the athletic department remained active, the installation needed to be completed within a specific four-day window. From Tuesday through Friday, our team removed the existing flooring and adhesive, prepared and repaired the concrete, and applied the new coating system across the 1,200-square-foot space.
This finished concrete floor coating will be easier to clean and maintain than the previous combination of carpet and laminate, making it a better solution for the daily foot traffic and activity of an athletic treatment space.
Completed on schedule, the upgraded training room floor is now better equipped to serve Cal Lutheran’s athletes, trainers, and staff for many years to come.
